March Home Maintenance Checklist

Updated: Apr 22

March is the gateway to spring, one of the biggest times for home cleaning. Beyond the blossoming flowers and warmer temperatures, it's also the ideal time for a home maintenance routine. It's time to get out of hibernation and start getting ready for spring and summer! Take a look at these tips we have to offer.

TEST YOUR SUMP PUMP

If your home has a sump pump, make sure it's working. Springtime is when the snow starts to melt and you could have problems with flooding. Ensure that your sump pump is functioning correctly by testing it now rather than waiting and dealing with the consequences later.

DEEP CLEAN YOUR HOME

Give your home a spring cleaning! Winter is a season when dust, dirt, and grime can accumulate, so spring is the ideal time to give your house a thorough cleaning.

CHECK YOUR ROOF

It's a good idea to check your roof to determine if it needs to be fixed now that the snow is melting and there may be big rains in the spring. Look for any soft patches on your roof and determine whether any shingles are missing, loose, or damaged. As soon as you can, you should have things repaired by a roofing specialist.

CLEAN YOUR GUTTERS

Flooding can result from gutters filled with dirt, fallen leaves, and other debris. This water may seep into your foundation and result in floods, or it may back up into your roof and cause wood rot and leaks. To prevent this issue, give your gutters a cleaning.

By investing time in these maintenance tasks now, you'll be ensuring a smooth and worry-free transition into the sunnier days ahead. Don’t want to do the work yourself? Here at Priority Management & Design, we offer maintenance services. Call today to set up an appointment! 667.803.4255
